Simón drifts away from the coast, with only the Islas Marías under a watch
By early Wednesday Simón was a small category 2 hurricane about 240 km west-southwest of Cabo Corrientes, drifting slowly southwest. The mainland has no watches or warnings; expect 25–50 mm more rain in Nayarit through Friday and dangerous surf and rip currents for days.
