Simón weakens to category 3 but lingers off the coast
Early Monday Simón's eye sat about 80 km southwest of Cabo Corrientes, creeping northwest at around 8 km/h, and forecasters expect it to move inland over west-central Mexico midweek. Nayarit could see 50–100 mm of rain, locally up to 200 mm, through Thursday.
