Butterfly Week
Vallarta Botanical Garden, Puerto Vallarta
A family weekend about butterflies at the botanical garden, with a butterfly safari, bookmark crafts made with flowers and a display of butterfly boxes.

Pickleball drop-in play
Sayulita Pickleball Club (Nawalli), Calle Miramar 51
Lit courts open every day, with drop-in play, leagues and coaching. Book through the club app or players' WhatsApp group; a fee applies. Sandbar also has one free court for customers.

Sea turtle hatchling releases
Sayulita turtle camp, north end of the main beach
Volunteers release hatchlings around sunset when nests hatch. Releases aren't guaranteed every night, so check at the camp that afternoon. Donations are welcome.

A live band plays while people use the free pickleball court, ping pong, cornhole and other games. Doors open at 5:30pm; band start time varies. The bar is closed Tuesdays.

A four-day PGA Tour event with 120 pros on Vidanta's Greg Norman course, about 40 minutes south of Sayulita. Grounds passes are available as day or four-day tickets.

Town plaza, streets and the Sayulita cemetery
In past years the town has hung marigold decorations, set up community altars and held a costumed evening parade, with a cemetery vigil and music in the plaza. The 2026 program hasn't been published yet.

HEAT Latin Music Awards week
Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center (CICPV)
The fan-voted Latin music awards come to Mexico for the first time with a week of events across Jalisco. The awards gala is in Puerto Vallarta on November 5.

Sayulita named Mexico's first official Surf City
Sayulita
Tourism officials will formally give Sayulita the Surf City title during the Day of the Dead celebrations. Venue and times haven't been announced.

Revolution Day parade
Downtown Sayulita
Schools usually march in a civic and sports parade for the anniversary of the Mexican Revolution. We haven't confirmed the local route or time.

A three-day tournament hosted by Sayulita's pickleball club. Follow the club's WhatsApp channel for brackets and registration.

Fiestas de la Virgen de Guadalupe
Our Lady of Guadalupe church and town plaza
Neighborhood groups parade decorated floats to the church in nightly processions with music and fireworks. On December 12 there are mañanitas, a community lunch and a fireworks 'castillo'.
